Skip Marini Golf

Let me introduce myself,

My name is Skip Marini and I am currently the 1st Assistant Golf Professional at Mohansic Golf Course in Yorktown Heights, NY.  I am entering my 6th year of teaching golf at Mohansic and this will be my 8th year as a Golf Professional.  My method of teaching golf is very simple.  I take what the student has and try to enhance the mechanics of the golf swing without trying to manufacture the perfect “Tiger Woods” swing.  There are many golf instructors that force the student to learn and try to emulate the perfect golf swing, but what they fail to realize is that every person has different degrees of learning perception, flexibility, strengths, weaknesses and body mass.  Perhaps injuries, arthritis, calcium deposits etc… and other factors have had the effect of making the perfect golf swing almost impossible.  That is why my success rate is very high in improving your golf swing and what works for you and ultimately seeing the results on your scorecard.  If you are a true beginner, you will benefit even more than the golfer who has 20 years of bad habits in their swing.  

My true passion is working with junior golfers and developing their skills so that they will have this wonderful game to play for a lifetime.  I am a certified instructor for The First Tee Program which is designed to offer life skills teachings as well as golf instruction and is a wonderful program for juniors.  Our golf staff is the first and only participants in Westchester County involved with the First Tee Program.  I also run the golf program for the Yorktown Athletic Club which is the first golf program in their 64 year organization history.  I am currently the head coach for the Yorktown High School Golf Team and I hope to continue as the head varsity coach for many years to come.  My Summer Camp for children is one of the best instructional and educational programs in the area and my main objective is to make sure all the children have the absolute best time learning golf.  And finally, I am proud to announce the completion of my instructional DVD that is now available to purchase.  This video is packed with great shot making tips and instruction that will shave strokes off your score.  For more information, click on the above tabs.
